Beginning January 1, 2024, the following changes will be in effect: A 6.15% premium rate increase for all BCBS Pelican and Magnolia health plans The Vantage Health Plans will no longer be available. Members enrolled in a Vantage health plan will have to select a new health plan for 2024. Life Insurance premium rate increase will not exceed $3.00/$1000 for actives and retirees New Flexible Spending Arrangement. OGB has selected a vendor and is in contract negotiations. Once OGB has a signed contract, information on the new FSA vendor will be sent to members. Requests for proposals (RFPs)for the Medicare Advantage plans offered by OGB are currently being reviewed by the Office of State Procurement (OSP). OGB anticipates these proposals will be reviewed and contracts will be awarded in time for the annual enrollment period. OGB will send out information to our Medicare eligible retirees in the mail. Information will also be posted on OGB’s websites info.groupbenefits.org and annualenrollment.groupbenefits.org . OGB encourages Medicare retirees to attend one of the Annual Enrollment informational meetings being held state wide. More information regarding the Medicare Advantage plans will be available at these meetings. In addition, OGB staff and vendors will be on hand to answer any questions members may have about their OGB Medicare coverage. Two new Medicare Advantage options Blue Advantage HMO Humana Medicare Advantage Employer HMO The contract for Life Insurance with Prudential expires on 12/31/18. A request for proposals was sent out in May. The contract award was protested. Once the protest is resolved, OGB will post more information on the Life Insurance plan.Beginning January 1, 2019, the following changes will be effective for our Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana plans: Retiree 100 premium increase to $81.00 per member, per month Retirees with Medicare will see their prescription drug coverage change from Medicare GenerationRx to VibrantRx Retirees with Medicare will be moved to a more restrictive formulary OGB will be adding 4 new Medicare Advantage Plans effective January 1, 2019 in addition to the plans offered by Vantage Health Plan and Peoples Health: New MA Plan 1 New MA Plan 2 New MA Plan 3 New MA Plan 4 Beginning January 1, 2019, the life insurance plan offered by OGB will be through ?OGB Cautions Members Against Scams Each year, the Office of Group Benefits receives reports from members who have gotten a phone call or a door-to-door solicitation from individuals claiming to be affiliated with OGB. In many cases, the solicitors call themselves OGB Benefit Advisors” and ask for money to be sent directly to them in order to enroll in a health plan. It’s important to remember that OGB representatives will never come to your home and will never ask you to send money directly to the agency or a representative . If you receive a suspicious call, visit or letter, please contact OGB to confirm that it is legitimate.
